Sketches.23 was recorded primarily in West Oakland and San Francisco in 2023. The project began as an open-ended experiment—an attempt to explore our own sound in a playful, intuitive way. The music is full of odd ideas, playful detours, and chaotic little moments. This project became a space to let our imaginations run wild. Shaped by our influences and our shared experiences of living far from home, the messiness and unpredictability of the tracks reflect the way we were feeling—uncertain, restless, but still searching for something meaningful. We felt the urge to release these sketches because in a time of great uncertainty for both of our lives, the experience of playing and creating music together became a compass—something steady amidst the chaos.
